Dr. Ben Snyder
Dr. Snyder earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2004, completed a master’s degree in Counseling from the Johns Hopkins University in 2008, and finished his doctoral training in Counseling Psychology at the University of Georgia in 2012. Since that time, Dr. Snyder has worked in private practice to develop a specialization in the treatment of concerns related to sports and performance. Dr. Snyder is an active member of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) and has extensive knowledge and experience with a wide range of competitive activities, including: basketball, baseball, football, golf, swimming, distance running, soccer, and video gaming. Additionally, Dr. Snyder has experience and training helping individuals in the performing arts including theater and public speaking.
Dr. Snyder values the benefits of participation in competitive athletics and continues to be an active participant in the local running community. Dr. Snyder annually competes in half marathon and marathon distance races and is currently training to compete in ultra-marathons. Dr. Snyder believes that the lessons and training learned through competition and performance can be generalized to daily life and will help individuals successfully manage stress and develop a winning mindset.
